Anna Ross is a Chicago-based comedy writer, director, and performer. She currently writes, edits, and performs in sketches with Lake Effect Sketch Comedy, a digital comedy production team with GOLD Comedy. Anna can be seen performing around Chicago twice weekly at The Second City, weekly at iO Theater, and at character and stand-up showcases across town. She is a founding member of The Cherry Swamp, a Washington-DC based satire publication.

Anna’s latest pilot script, Badger, was an official selection and nominee for Best Short Screenplay at Cindependent Film Festival 2023, and an official Pitchworld selection at Lake Placid Film Festival 2023.

As a Taurus sun, Virgo rising, and Capricorn moon, Anna is often heard referring to herself as “queen of the Earth signs.” She is still working a healthy relationship to the Earth though, despite listing “hiking” as one of her hobbies on all questionnaires.
